This picture was taken after a long hiking day on June 26th 2010. The mountain you see in the background is called Pedraforca.
Pedraforca is one of the most emblematic mountains in Catalunya. With an altitude of 2.506 meters and its peculiar shape, it’s placed inside the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.
In June 2010, some friends and I decided to climb it. I almost didn’t have any experience on hiking, and I don’t particularly love the idea of climbing mountains, but the fact that I was going to be able to see amazing landscapes which I could snap with my camera, kept me going during the hard climb.
This header picture was taken once we were going back home. We stopped the car in a village called Maçaners. I took several shots, even in bracketing mode to achieve a realistic contrast after applying the HDR process, but the first picture I took ended up being the one I liked most.
The funny thing though is that it wasn’t until I got home and saw the picture in a big screen, that I noticed two perfectly focused insects in the foreground, hanging from a twig (this can only be seen in the full size picture).
